Ground Penetrating Radar
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
GPR is a non-destructive near-surface geophysical method which transmits very high frequency electromagnetic energy into the ground to image the subsurface. When the radar pulse encounters a buried object or interface of differing electromagnetic properties, the wave is reflected to the receiver. The GPR method has been applied to numerous applications:
Archaeological investigations
Location of unmarked graves and cemetery mapping
Geological horizon mapping
Golf course mapping
Underground storage tank locating
Void detection
Ice thickness mapping
Underground utility detection of cables & pipes
Structural concrete inspections
NSGeo Imaging Inc. offers state-of-the-art GPR post processing services. The goals of post processing is to improve the signal to noise ratio by attenuating coherent and/or incoherent noise using spatial and temporal filters. Through proper selection of parameters, backed with testing and QC, artifacts are significantly reduced.
Additional GPR services:
GPR acquisition consultancy
GPR data QA/QC
GPR auditing
