Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

GPR is a non-destructive near-surface geophysical method which transmits very high frequency electromagnetic energy into the ground to image the subsurface. When the radar pulse encounters a buried object or interface of differing electromagnetic properties, the wave is reflected to the receiver. The GPR method has been applied to numerous applications:

The goals of post processing is to improve the signal to noise ratio by attenuating coherent and/or incoherent noise using spatial and temporal filters. Through proper selection of parameters, backed with testing and QC, artifacts are significantly reduced.
